“The Echale Ganas Project”

(eh. - chah. - leh. gah. - nahs.)

Meaning: A Mexican expression that literally means to “throw some life into it,” ¡Échale Ganas! is often used to say, “Go for it!” “Put your all into it”

Building community within the industry is important for MiLuna. In order to create change, it must first start from the inside. I’ve thought about countless ways we can work together to show those on the outside looking in, how we have evolved in craft beer for the better.

The Échale Ganas Project is meant to create an authentic approach to innovation in craft beer through collaboration, story telling, and building community.

So, what’s the plan?

We are taking a collaborative approach by brewing a beer with cervecerias who are aligned with our mission and values. The innovative part to this will not only be producing a recipe to brew together, but when released, create an experience for the surrounding communities to take part in. This gives breweries the opportunity to connect with their consumers the way my culture connects with our communities. Each brew will have an intention and a story to tell.

The funds raised from these beer release events will go to MiLuna’s build out. The goal is to raise $100,000, so when it’s time to pitch to investors, I can say with the most confidence, “This is how I work hard. This is how I will help change the industry. This is only the beginning of what Mi Gente, Mi Comunidad, and Mi Cultura can do…”. This isn’t to intimidate them. It’s just to let them know, I ain’t playin’ around. I am a Chingona, after all.

The Échale Ganas Project is not just about raising money for MiLuna. This project is meant to create a deeper connection between breweries and consumers. This initiative is meant to get us out of our comfort zones in order to invite opportunity for growth and empower the curious to try something new.

Listen, failure will always be a factor when taking risks. But, I would rather try something and fail, then never try at all. Yes, opening a brewery is scary. It’s hard. It’s confusing. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself doing anything else in this life of mine. I love brewing. I love my culture. I love this beer industry. I love my community.

I believe loving these things as much as I do, will bring MiLuna to life. I know I can’t do this alone, which is why this collaborative approach involves the support of the beer industry and your support as well. With that, I would like to thank all of you for taking time in reading this and supporting our fundraising efforts. Excited to drink a MiLu beer with you all in the near future.

Gracias,
